So, Christmas is just around the corner and you don't have a present? Or are you just tired of giving the same old store bought mass-produced gifts this year? No problem! These homemade 'no-baking energy bites' will be the perfect last minute present for all your loved ones! Because everyone just loves to receive edible gifts, this delicious oatmeal dessert, is sure to satisfy anyone.
I know how sometimes we get caught up with the holiday rush and start buying things last minute, how maybe we get frustrated from waiting in line at the supermarket almost regretting leaving our warm and cozy house. So, in the spirit of this great holiday which I adore, I want to wish all of you a Merry and Happy Christmas this year, and I want to remind myself that happiness often stays in small things, in little details, and of course, in time spent with the loved ones. And maybe the feeling of making something with your own hands for someone can trigger a spark of joy in your hearts. Even if it is some 'oatmeal dessert', that made with love can have more meaning than a very expensive gift.
Put them in a decorate box and you’re all set. Merry Christmas!
1 pomegranate (= about 600 seeds)
1 stick (250 g) of butter
2/3 cup nut mix (peanuts, cashews, hazelnuts, walnuts, almonds or pistachios)
1/2 cup coconut flakes
1/2 cup sugar
4 cup (dry) oatmeal
2 Tbsp cocoa
1 Teaspoon maple syrup
1/3 cup chocolate chips
HOW IT'S MADE
This recipe is so absolute beginner material and ready in no time!
1. Mix all the ingredients together in a large bowl and stir until thoroughly mixed. Use a fork or just use your hands (that’s what I do).
2. Form the mixture into balls of whatever size you would like. Toss them through oat.
3. After you’re ready, keep them in the refrigerator for at least 1 – 2 hours before eating.
